Artist Statement

I explore a variety of subject matter and work primarily in either alcohol inks or watercolor. In 2020, due to the pandemic, I started to work with colored pencils as a way to work outside my studio and found them equally as satisfying.  Each medium has unique properties that fascinate me. There is  the vibrancy of the colors provided by the inks, the delicacy and transparency achieved with the watercolors or the soft texture and glow provided by the pencils.  Each medium gives me a channel to express the nuance and contrasts I see in everyday objects.  My  work can be realistic, impressionistic or abstract. The possibilities are endless!
